I honestly don’t agree with this at all. If you make it apparent to others that you are completely against something, and then somehow act in support of that something, that’s not viewed just as some inconsistency in your character. You are a hypocrite. Not only are you a hypocrite, but a liar. You have lied to yourself and those who think they know you. It’s like having a bookshelf full of books that you think look interesting and intellectual, but you’ve actually never read. It is showing everyone what you would like to be, which is fine and nice, but being the person that you want to be is built in your actions.
I feel that this quote is saying that it’s okay for what you project yourself to be to be completely contradictory of who you actually are. I respect Kathleen Hanna, but fuck that shit.
I just came to the interesting/sad/awesome realization that my past crushes have had a hand in forming who I am today. I’ve always been one for intellectual types, and I’ll pick up books on whatever they’re into (i.e. Beat poets, Buddhist philosophy, chemical engineering, astrophysics, the history of social movements, etc.). Man, I’ve been into some nerdy douche bags. But ultimately, this has made me a more well-informed human, and for that I thank them all.
I get the feeling that people don’t take me seriously when I tell them that my favorite song of all time is Remix To Ignition.

I’m glad that my Indian boyfriend and I can laugh at this interracial couple that got banned from a church in Kentucky. Living in Tennessee, I guess it’s good that we’re both atheist.
